SPARKY
Sparky is 6 years old and initially came to stay with my family on a foster
care basis through Friends of the Hound. It wasn't long before I realised
that I couldn't bear to part with this boy; his gentle, affectionate, loyal
and easy going nature being an absolute joy to be around. His best mate is
Mia, a 5 year old whippet and since he arrived they have been inseparable,
sharing everything from the kennel, bones and even sharing their dinner
bowls. He "free ranges" around the paddock with my two horses and can often
be seen with his head stuck in the feed bins sharing their feed. Sparky is
kind and tolerant with our 3 year old toddler, politely putting up with
having his nose pulled and being dragged around the garden. His favourite
pastime, as with most greyhounds, is being a professional lounge lizard.
Exercise is short and sweet, usually a couple of lightening speed laps
around the paddock with Mia then back to bed for a well earned rest. While
more than happy being an outside dog, he loves to come inside at night to
spend a bit of time in front of the telly, flat out on the couch. No room
for anyone else, but hey, that's life when you share it with a big handsome
greyhound. Along with his brother Kane, Sparky is currently training to
become a Friends of the Hound Pets as Therapy dog. Thank you Lisa for
allowing me to adopt Sparky he is a great friend and I absolutely love him!
