Do you remember Pippa? She is the beautiful 2 year

Do you remember Pippa? She is the beautiful 2 year old greyhound who came into our care earlier this month. She had sustained an injury while being trialled. The trainer left her without any vet treatment.

Well, we have an update- yesterday she had her surgery, it took 4.5 hrs. She has had a large plate put in with 8 screws. She had to a have a piece of bone grafted from her shoulder. She has a splint on and needs bandage changes twice a week for now.

Pippa will need regular check ups, care and rehabilitation over the next 3 months while she recovers. This is in addition to the cost of her complex surgery- $6000.

Thanks to everyone who came along to the protest rally opposing the proposed new Tweed Greyhound track at Chinderah today.

Hosted by the Animal Justice Party, speakers included Susie Hearder, AJP candidate for Tweed; Ali Waters, AJP’s Lead Candidate for the upcoming NSW election; Lisa White, Friends of the Hound; & Angela Pollard, AJP President NSW.

We need to shut down the racing industry. We need to end Govt support of dog racing. We need animal welfare to be prioritised.

Beautiful Pippa 😥
She is only 2 years old. She has just come into foster care with Friends of the Hound. She sustained an injury while being trialled 3 months ago.

⚠️ Three months with broken bones.
⚠️ No treatment.
