Lynette’s Mutt Loaf aka Lynette’s Loving Hound Bake

Not sure what to feed your hound?

Lynette cooks up this wonderful meal for all her dogs twice a week (in 2 large baking dishes) but has reduced the recipe for a more β€˜normal’ number of hounds in the home.

HOW TO:

Use one large baking dish. (This would be enough for 2 dogs for one week).

Ingredients:-

1 Butternut or half a Jap pumpkin
1 large orange sweet potato
6 to 8 carrots (depending on size)
2 or 3 zucchinis (depending on size)
3 or 4 apples
4 -6 eggs
2 cups of grated cheese – optional
1.5-2kg of mince (can be beef or chicken, or tinned tuna – whatever suits your dog)
Coconut oil (or other oil) optional
Plus… any other veggies that you have left over that are dog friendly.

Only top and tail veggies – leave skin on.

Using the food processor with the grating blade and run all the veggies through – a few at a time.

In the baking dish place eggs, meat and cheese and mix together by hand. Place them all into the meat mixture, and mix it through by hand.

Pile it up high, and pat it down flat in tray.

Bake in moderate oven for 1-1.5 hours till it has browned on the top.

Cooking time will depend on the size of your baking dish.

Happy Hungry Hounds!!
